Hello and Welcome

This is my first ever blog post so bear with me. I’m still learning. I am a semi-aspiring writer, so maybe that will help.

Hello. Gosh I have typed that a lot today building this website. Hopefully the amount of “hi,” “hello,” and “welcome” will lessen the more I do this. I am just totally not used to being the focus of things. But that’s what a blog is. Talking about yourself to people on the internet. So, Here we go:

I am in my mid-twenties. I graduated from college about a year and a half ago with a Bachelor’s in English. I currently use my degree every day working in the clothing section of the Target about five minutes from my house. My official job title is Style Consultant, like the fancy name will make me forget my job is cleaning up after grown women shopping for stuff they probably don’t need who will personally blame me if we don’t have exactly what they are looking for. I’m actually kind of exaggerating, most of them are fairly polite and understanding. There are just the few who are used to getting everything they want with minimal effort that ruin it for the rest of the guests, as we call them.

And this whole Corona virus thing has only made it worse. Example: our fitting rooms are closed for what are, in my opinion, very good reasons. People get so mad about it. They shove carts and swimsuits. They complain about the hassle of having to take it home and bring it back to return it. Sometimes they don’t live in town and I understand, but most of them just want to be annoyed by something. People who want to complain will always find something. I know because I am sometimes guilty of this as well.

But maybe that is enough about my job. Let’s talk about what you all want to hear more about: MY DOG! I am sure you noticed the giant picture of him at the top of this post. His name is Neville. He is a one-and-a-half-year-old Pembroke Welsh Corgi. Yes, he is purebred. He is a black-headed Tricolor Pembroke. They exist in more colors than the “standard” red and white you see most often. Look it up. My favorite thing about his coloring is his eyebrows. They make his little face so expressive. He is literally my favorite thing in the whole world. Not kidding.

Okay. I am going to be done rambling on now. Not sure how long these posts are supposed to be but several paragraphs of complaining about my job and fussing over my dog seems like a good length. Well, thanks for reading. Hopefully you will come back.

Lauryn
