How I Got the Best Corgi in All the World

I got Neville on March 9th of last year. I had graduated college that previous December. The last semester there I had applied for a Summer internship with Penguin Random House, my dream place of work. I have had dogs my whole life and desperately wanted one of my own. But I was waiting to hear back from Penguin before I did anything. On March 1st I heard, I didn’t get it. I was sad for about a day and then thought: “Well, guess now we get a dog.”

So, the next day I started looking at puppy rescues for a puppy, preferably Corgi mix but anything adorable would do. I just wanted a dog. After finding a couple cute possibilities and having my heart break not getting them. I contacted an old friend from church(used to go don’t anymore. More on that later, probably) who has a Pembroke Welsh Corgi and asked where she got hers. She sends me the link to her breeder. And I look just cuz I’m curious. I still have my heart set on a rescue at this point.

I look on their page and what do I see but one little adorable Corgi puppy left. A boy that they have posted about five times with no one claiming him as theirs. My hearts skips a little. He’s adorable and perfect and fuzzy and he has a heart on his butt. This was honestly one of the strongest selling points, not sure why I just thought it was to cute for words. Anyway, I messaged the owners to see if he was still available and what the price would be. We negotiated it down a little and I said I needed the night to think about it. Cut to the next morning at about 7:40, I message the breeder that I want to take him home.

And that’s it. That’s how I got my Neville Oliver Fluffybottom(his full name, never used it once). And I love him so much. Oh, and probably should mention, This all took place over one weekend. March 2nd-5th. I really wanted a dog and now I have the bestest dog ever! (In my opinion. All dogs are best dogs.) Anyway, that’s it. Have a happy day scrolling.
